Mike Shula's future

Mike Shula has been coaching the Tide for 4 years now. He has recruited very well, but he is John Cooper. He can get the talent but he can't coach it. Just like Coopers whose predictable, unimaginative, and sometimes stupid offensive moves led to defeats by Michigan 12 out of 14(?)times including in 1995, when Tim Biakabutka ran for 313 and beat a team that had Galloway, George, Glenn, Hoying etc. on it.

If it wasn't For Joe Kines who is the best Defensive Coordinator in the nation by far, we would have had that happen to us already.

His predictable offense, misuse/non-use of talent, and outright cowardice has doomed the Tide to failure. Now he either needs to change these things or leave.

Against Arkansas, we lost 24-23 because of a bad kicking Performance and lack of a running game. Out of his 2 faults which entirely rest on his shoulders, one of them was the latter I just mentioned, plus not being aggressive at the end of the game going for the end zone or getting the ball closer to the Field Goal. The running game could have been effective if Kenneth "-1 Yard and a cloud of failure" DARPA was not the feature back and Jimmy Johns was. Against UF he failed miserably to run the football enough and he once again did not use screens to alleviate the pressure off of JPW. His red zone offense once again failed. In the UT loss his glaring cowardice on 4th and goal on UT's 1 YARD LINE proved to me he can't coach. We lost the momentum and gave UT a victory by holding us to 3 and we ended up losing by 3, 7 in this spot would have mad the score 17-15 leaving UT a 2pt conversion to tie....Jimmy Johns ran the ball 3 times early for 38 yards basically causing the drive deep into UT territory that stalled and lead to another FG attempt. Kenneth Darby ran the ball around 15 times for 25 yards. JJ was not hurt, unlike the Tuberville lying that went on afterward by some of the UA coaches...he played every down on the cover unit on Special Teams and caught a 2nd half pass for a first down...He keeps sending KD up the middle so he can slip and lose 1 yard, meanwhile JJ is gashing and he gets the bench? What crap. JJ helps our palya ction game because everybody thinks its a run(he only comes in to do that essentially)the one time we did that we had a first down passing...he helps the offense...defenses repsect him(good ones), but no its DUM all day(Darby Up Middle, he is a small off-tackle runner who can juke and move he has some speed but no upper body power, he can break tackles around his legs running away from people with some momentum going but that is it, he has to out-quick people, so why sends him most of the time up the middle against a good SEC defense?). Shula also always pulls the guard on Darby's few outside runs, which wouldn't be a bad idea except its predictable, easily sniffed out, and snuffed...simple Off tackles this year have worked...so lets not do that Shula says, lets fail miserably offensively, just like last year....

Shula benches the mediocre Tatum and replaces him with that pioneer Chris Capps(He is Betsy Ross in Pads, the first woman football player at Alabama...YAY!)who was responsible for no less than 7 sacks against The Barn last year. Capps has given up at least 2 sacks, 5 knockdowns, and 8 hurries in what seems to be every game he has played, when he manages (barely) to get his body between him and the defender, he squeezes the pocket by getting pushed into JPW...when run blocking, like his "pass blocking" he doesn't even try and powder puffs himself so he gets pushed around and does no pushing himself just wimpy slaps and a no drive....Capps is realy slow, weak, stiff, bad technique (thanks Ungerer) not athletic, and NO HEART...Put Tatum in he tries at least and can run block a bit.

Shula's game preparation is horrible except for the gameplan which is decent, but adjustment(which is always nooooone!)and his cowardly approach to the game of football...is what is killing us. We are mentally weak. Shula is lenient on players concerning football success, he never scolds them enough for stupid things, much less getting on them for bad play and no heart and effort.. We are horrible....You want proof?

10-3 at halftime against one of the worst teams in America, FIU(counting High Schools and Girls flag at O'Rourke elementary here in Mobile), who had 18 players suspended, many of whom were starters, mostly on defense.

This is pathetic.
